Here we will understand and write the most important tags in proper manner.

Title Tag  top

It appears at the top blue line or strip of your browser. There is a misconception about this tag and that is that only company’s name can be written here. But actually what searching spiders do is that they look for the services and product names from which surfers are likely to search for the particular site. Remember these words are those, which we have already discussed in step 2.

Now we have to remember one more thing and that is what is essential for writing the title tag.

• use long title tag (maximum 55 char.)
• all words must be related to your services or products
• not all the words should start from capital letters
• avoid promotional statements as “we are the best” in this tag
• should use some words with all caps in the beginning of the title tags just to give better positions. As caps are ranked higher than small.

Now open any word editor like wordpad or notepad. Open your page there e.g. index.html. it means open your web page.

In the head section write as under

apply the same for your product or service.

Here I have emphasized on "cotton yarn" as other types of yarns comes under cotton yarn. Save your page. Now your page will appear as:

Description Tag  top

It is basically used for describing the content of your website. Remember one thing that in search results it is description tag, which influences the surfer wheather to click your site, or not.

Open again the index file. Now right in the head portion the description tag.

Here you have to be very careful as you have to write the logical statement which should be covering all aspects of your website. Plus, it should be enriched with the words you would like the surfers to find your site.

Ideal description tag length is 30 words.

So, lets write the description tag. I would like to write a description tag for a yarn manufacturer as under

my description tag is of 17 words and comprehensively describes the whole site.

Quality of this tag is as I have used all of my product names in it. Plus, reoccurrence of the word ”yarn “ will give me better position with all the search phrases involving yarn.

Save the file, remember this description tag can only be seen in search engine results as under.

Keyword Tag  top

This is the most important tag of all. As the spider will critically watch where and what is placed.

In step 2 we listed some of our services and products for our knowledge. Now this is the time to exploit that knowledge.

Open a separate text editor i.e. notepad. Now list down all the possible combinations of two words or three words. Write them in vertical order. Now place two words phrase a head of three word phrases. As most of the surfers usually enter two word search query.

Edit the list according to your priority. The number of phrases in edited list should not exceed 20. As it would be very difficult to give proper prominence in keyword tag.

There are few things that are very important in writing this tag:

• the particular phrase should not exceed 6 times. Yes, the phrase can be repeated but not after one another. You have to give space of some search phrases before repeating the same phrase.
• important phrases should come earlier and thus repeated earlier in the tag.
• plurals should also be added to the keyword list.
• common misspells like ”center” and “centre” should also be included.
• put “commas” between the two search phrases.

Here I am listing down the possible words for my yarn product. You do the same for your product.

I have already arranged my search phrases priority wise you should do the same. Now I will put them in the tag.

In the head portion of html code write this tag.

Try to arrange the words priority wise as those words should occupy early places than others. These only work for the spider of the search engines.

These tags are used in the body section of the html code. But are not visible at the front end.

Try to use keywords like this

you have to put the keyword in some sort of statement as in human edit online directories human will watch for irrelevant thing, and if you have not used it in some sort of sentence then it is likely that editor can penalize you for doing this

Image Alt Tag  top

Image alt tag can be seen at the front end so, logical statement should carry the keywords. more keywords adding to this may hinder your website’s looks,

Try to hide the image alt tags in corner gifs or in the top image gif as surfer normally don’t put mouse over those places.

Save your document and now your web page is fully ready to be submitted in search engine.
